Yesterday we visited with Jack and Nancy. The kids were a bit of a nightmare on the way over, not likeing the music on the radio, but cheered up with a bit of tomfoolery on my part... Pretty soon after getting there Jack and I went out fishing on the lake (as we have most Tuesdays now for 6 months or so. Heather and Becca wanted to come too, so we put them in life jackets and set off. At first Becca was nervous of the boat, and the crickets, and she did have one total break down when she got a cricket on her, but once we started reeling in fish she soon turned it around. We cought over a dozen bluegill, some real nice big ones and saw plenty of wild life, but no gators. Each time I caught one I offered it up for a kiss from either girl, both squeemishly shied away but after 4 or 5 fish Becca stepped up to the plate and planted a smacker on it! Don't know what the fish thought but Becca was thrilled! after an hour or so the got a little bored and we motored back. Dinner was ready for us after we had washed up, Shepherd's pie and Salad, followed with Apple pie and ice cream. we had some really good conversation and left about 9:30 and plan to do it again soon. Back home I was really tired and sat and half watched the dennis Leary thing on FX with Jana and dozed off.

Last night we visited with Uncle Jack and Aunt Nancy. Heather wanted to fish off the dock in their back yard and I don't need an excuse to put a hook in the water so we trotted down to the lake with the ass end slice of bread and a couple of rods. I got one fish on but when I handed the Rod to Heather to reel in it had got off the hook. Still a bad days fishing beats a good day at work and pretty soon we were called in for Dinner. Heather had left a little earlier when a big spider skiming on the surface made landfall on her float. We had a nice time chatting and an excellent meal, we also watched a video of my wife's 22nd and her cousin, Kelly's (Jack and Nancy's daughter) 20th Birthday party, back in 1990. Brittani was 3, Rebecca was transfixed to see Brittani as a toddler. There was also some good footage of Nanny and Miss Margaret, who have sadly both passed on since then. We took the tape to make a copy and made plans to visit again next tuesday.

By the time the GSD rescue could get to us we had already decided to keep him. He is epileptic, which we control with medication.
- Arwen, aka well despite what I said in the first post Winnie and Woo have never really stuck, so it is just Arwen. She now weighs about 80 lbs and has been full of beans since we got her. She is very clever and obedient.

Hi, I'm new to all this so here is my first entry, to start with I am going to just write it like a diary and we will see how it progresses.
Today is Friday, Hooray Friday! I'm getting off work early 'cause I got here at 6.30 and worked my lunch so that I can go home and greet my new family member: Arwen aka Winnie aka Woo. She is a 10 week old Doberman and Jana is going to pick her up from Wesley chapel (just north of Tampa) at noon. The name comes from the Lord of the rings book (yes I know its sad but at least its a pet not a kid) It has an aloof appeal which hopefully will it the Dobie nature and also allowed us to shorten i t a variety of Woo style alternatives (Winnie winnie woo, the Wooster, woodly doodly, etc) and also fits in well the Foo (Heather) Boo (Rebecca) and Roo (Riley) Well more later on the new dog.
Heather was sick last night in the kitchen and again in our bed and again this morning in the car so she has stayed home from daycare. Hopefully she is over it now, apparently she sounds better.
Already I have come to realize I should write this at the end of the day, so I will do so and sign off for now..
